About Us
Chhetradip Annapurna Trout Research and Development Center (CATRED) was establised in 2012 by 18 locals of Sardhi-khola and Purunchoure VDC of Kaski District. The farm is located on the lap of beautiful Machhapuchhure and mighty Annapurna mountains in Sardhi-khola VDC which is 20km North of the beautiful Pokhara Valley.
The Water Source
Rainbow Trouts are coldwater species inhabiting in clean freshwater dams, rivers and streams. The source of water in which our trouts grow is from the Sardhi-khola which is a perennial snow fed river with clean and cold temperature water that is most suited and perfect for trout fishes to breed and reproduce. Sardhi-khola river begins from the Jhimsephedi mountain and is a main tributary of Seti river.
Our goals and Objectives
Our goal is to establish as a sucessful private sector company producing and marketing trout and allied agro-based enterprises and services in a eco-friendly manner. We also aim to provide employment opportunities for local youths and small entrepreneurs by utilize unused natural resources in a sustainable way. We mainly focus on these objectives :
- Produce and market healthy table size rainbow trouts all year around
- Carry out applied research in Trout fish production, management, disease control and seed production
- Produce and market quality rainbow trout seeds to local farmers
- Utlizing natural resources in an eco-friendly and sustainable manner to increase production of rainbow trouts
- Train and employ locals and youths to initiate skilled manpower in trout fish farming
- Transfer technology of Rainbow trout-fish production and eco-friendly enterprises to farmers and entrepreneurs.

Himalayan Rainbow Trout
Rainbow Trout has a delicate flavour and a moist soft texture. They have fewer bones in them compared to other local fishes. SO, it's safer for small childern and adults to include in their diet.The Rainbow Trout we deliver to your homes and restaurant are vaccum packed and labeled. A packet weight might differ due to difference in growth of the fishes.
